Milkman punched in the mouth during assault in Claydon's Paper Mill Lane

A milkman was left with a split lip after an altercation with a member of the public in Claydon earlier this month.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to and have appealed for witnesses after the assault, which happened on Paper Mill Lane at about 4.50am on Thursday, April 1.

Officers said the victim was driving his milk float when he got into an altercation with a member of the public.

This resulted in the victim being punched in the mouth, causing a split to his lip.

The suspect was described as a 6ft white man who was wearing a dark blue jacket at the time.

Police would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image in connection with the incident, and have asked anyone with information to call Hadleigh police on 101, quoting crime reference 37/17130/21.
