More than 3,000 repairs carried out by Suffolk County Council as part of pothole programme, report shows

More than 3,000 repairs have been carried out by a council as part of its pothole prevention programme, a report shows.

Suffolk County Council launched its pothole prevention programme last year as a proactive approach to road maintenance.

A report, due to be presented to members of the scrutiny committee on Wednesday, shows 3,519 repairs were carried out across the county between October and April.

The programme combined the Roadmender and Dragon Patching methods to address potholes not yet meeting the criteria for repairs but projected to worsen if left untreated.

According to the report, as many as 6,077 potential potholes, across 233 treated roads, have been repaired during the period.

The programme will continue through the summer and run until August.
