Ipswich Taco Bell in Anglia Retail Park expected to open by Christmas as inside fit out in full swing

Ipswich’s new Taco Bell looks set to open by Christmas as work on the building reaches its next major milestone.

Fitting out of the inside of the new drive-through eatery in Anglia Retail Park is in full swing.

Outside work on the building is complete, with the signage being unveiled on August 30.

Ipswich Borough Assets (IBA), owned by the borough council, said it expected the new eatery to open by Christmas.

This means it would be the second retail unit at Anglia Retail Park to open before the new year, alongside Lidl, which is also currently being fitted out.

Colin Kriedewolf, chairman of IBA, said the firm was delighted to see significant progress on both projects.

“The completion of the building works is a key milestone for the retail park and creates the opportunity for new jobs,” he said.

“We’re proud to contribute to the growth of Anglia Retail Park and its role in boosting local employment and retail diversity.”

The eatery, which will offer drive-through, takeaway and delivery options, was originally planned to open in summer 2023.

Work to convert the inside began in February last year and plans to be able to open the site, before the completion of EV charging ports, were given the green light last June.

SuffolkNews reported earlier this year that the American fast food chain still had plans to open in the town – with the firm itself last providing an update in October.

The firm is recruiting for a general manager.
