Pair arrested after woman suffers life-threatening head injuries in Ipswich attack released under investigation




Two men who were arrested after a woman was left fighting for her life in an assault in Ipswich have been released under investigation.

The pair were arrested after police were called just before 5am today to reports that, following a short altercation, a woman was assaulted in Falcon Street.

The woman, in her 30s, was found unconscious with life-threatening head injuries.

She was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital and her condition is now described as serious but stable.

Two men, in their 20s, were arrested near the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Both men have been released under investigation.

Road closures initially put in place have been lifted.
