Person dies following Crocus Close, Ipswich, flat fire

A person has died following a flat fire in a Suffolk town.

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Crocus Close, Ipswich, at around 10.40am.

Three fire engines were called to the scene, with breathing equipment and two hose reel jets in use.

Police were also in attendance.

A police spokesperson confirmed there had been a fatality, with the cause of the fire yet to be determined.

The spokesperson added that it was not believed to be suspicious.
