SuffolkNews Podcast: Family of Ipswich man Gavin Douglas who died in a motorbike crash on the B1077 near Witnesham pay tribute
In today’s podcast, the family of a man who died in a motorbike crash have described him as ‘the brightest of stars and a larger-than-life character’.
Gavin Douglas, 47, of Ipswich, died after the single vehicle crash involving a motorbike on the B1077 near Witnesham just before 1.45pm on Saturday, May 27.
The Douglas family have issued a tribute via Suffolk Police.
Also, parents have voiced concerns at the lack of communication on the future leadership of a Suffolk independent school as its headmaster still remains absent.
SuffolkNews reported in May that parents of pupils at Culford School, near Bury St Edmunds, were informed that Julian Johnson-Munday would be away from his role for a short period for personal reasons.
But now, six months on, some parents want to know the school’s long-term plans as they say no real update has been given to them.

And finally, a prominent pub in Ipswich will be reborn with cheaper drinks and aims to bring the best of the town to the table, according to those behind its reopening.
The Suffolk Punch, in Norwich Road, which closed down in mid-May, could reopen in the coming weeks.
New tenants for the local pub have been found, and work is ongoing to upgrade facilities inside, such as the sound system, TVs and bar equipment.
