St Margaret wooden figurine stolen from Chattisham church near Ipswich
Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a theft of a figurine from a church in a Suffolk village.
The incident at All Saints & St Margaret’s Church in Chattisham, near Ipswich, happened between 9am on Wednesday, May 24 and 5pm on Thursday, May 25.
A bespoke wooden figurine of St Margaret holding a lamb was stolen from inside the church.
The carving is described as being between 50 and 60cm high and was carved from a piece of driftwood elm found on the shore of the River Orwell.
Officers ask if anyone has information, images or footage which could help the inquiry, to contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference number 37/30732/23 via the website.
