Police investigation concludes into death of newborn baby after body found in Norwich Road, Ipswich
A police investigation into the death of a baby in Ipswich last year has concluded, with detectives satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances.
Officers were called just after 12.35pm on Saturday, December 9 to a property in Norwich Road, where the body of a newborn baby had been discovered outside the premises.
Paramedics also attended, but the baby was declared dead a short time later.
A Home Office post-mortem examination took place on Tuesday, December 12 and was inconclusive, with further tests required.
The further tests gave a cause of death as ‘stillbirth’ with no criminal offences revealed and the investigation has concluded.
Two men who were arrested as part of the investigation into the death have been released from police bail and will face no further action, as will a teenage female who was also arrested and had remained under investigation.
