Police launch probe as man dies after incident at Suffolk seaside




A kite-surfer in his 50s has died following an incident in Walberswick.

Emergency services were called at 3.20pm after concerns were raised for the safety of a man in the sea off Walberswick beach.

HM Coastguard, East of England Ambulance Service and police all attended the scene, which is just over a mile away from the popular tourist spot of Southwold.

The man in his 50s, who is thought to have been kite-surfing, was found by members of the public on the shore.

Despite medical attention, police the man died at the scene.

Police have confirmed his next of kin have been informed.

An investigation into the incident is continuing but at this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.
