Police had appealed for help to find him over the past month or so, with his loved ones saying he had not been seen or heard from for what they described as an 'unusually long period of time'.

His next of kin have been informed of the news.

A police spokeswoman said there are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
