Police seek man after girl, 11, bitten by dog in Ipswich

Police are appealing for information and seeking a man they want to speak to after a girl was bitten by a dog in Ipswich.

Officers said it happened yesterday at about 4pm on Dales Road when a brown whippet-type dog that was off its lead bit a 11-year-old girl.

The girl's trousers were ripped and her skin was pierced as a result.

A police spokeswoman said the dog owner offered to pay for the damage but left without leaving his details.

Police want to speak to the man, who is described as white, in his 60s and well-spoken.

He was wearing a flat cap at the time and was with a younger man with a similar type of dog.
