Revealed: All the road closures for Larking Gowen’s Ipswich half marathon, including A1156, Portman Road, Duke Street, B1456 and more

Thousands of runners of all ages and abilities will descend on Ipswich this weekend as the town’s annual half-marathon gets under way.

Kicking off from Portman Road at 9.30am on Sunday, the route will take participants on a tour of the town as they seek to raise money for a good cause.

Runners will visit some of Ipswich’s most scenic landmarks including the waterfront, Holywells Park and the River Orwell.

As a result, a number of road closures or restrictions will be in place during the event.

All are expected to shut at 8.30am and reopen no later than 1.30pm on September 22, according to Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the organisers of the event.

However, the event will also require parking suspensions to be in place for some streets, between 6pm on September 21 to 1.30pm on September 22.

“We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. All closures will be lifted as soon as possible.”
