All the criminals with Suffolk links who were jailed in June, with cases from Ipswich, Lowestoft, Newmarket, Mildenhall and more




It was a busy month for the courts, with sentences handed out to dozens of people across the county.

While some were punished for more minor offences, others received long jail terms for the more serious of crimes.

These are the people with Suffolk links who faced justice in June.

Drink driver was found slumped in his car

This case involves a man who was found slumped in his car beside the A14 with part of the vehicle sticking out into a live lane.

George Msipa, 37, of Folley Road, Mildenhall, was banned from driving for 40 months and ordered to pay a fine of £500 on June 2.

He was seen in his Mercedes parked beside the road at junction 35, near Stow cum Quy, by officers at about 7am June 1.

Officers suspected he had been drinking and a breath test found Msipa to be more than twice the legal limit.

Also in June, a Newmarket stalker who terrorised his victim with footage of him shooting an imitation gun was jailed.

Barlomiej Doroszku, 35, of All Saints Road, was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court on June 5.

Doroszku undertook a stalking campaign which began after the victim ended their four-year relationship last November.

He pestered her relentlessly with about 30 messages and calls a day, including threats to kill her.

He also said he would turn up at her workplace if she did not respond and threatened to share intimate pictures of her if she reported him to police.

In addition to his sentence, he was handed a restraining order for 20 years.

Another case from June concerns a Haverhill man who bit off someone else’s finger in a drunken attack.

Martin Roskilly, 48, of Castle Lane, was jailed for two years and eight months at Cambridge Crown Court on June 5.

The court was told Roskilly became verbally aggressive in The Crown Inn pub, in Linton, at about 10.30pm on November 11, 2022.

He was asked to leave but refused and a pub worker, who was not on shift at the time, intervened to try to help.

Roskilly pushed the pub worker and dragged him outside. Both men hit their heads on the ground during a scuffle before Roskilly bit the man’s right middle finger off.

Roskilly admitted to having a drinking problem when questioned by officers.

Brothers robbed ATMs across the country

Another case from this month sees two brothers from Hertfordshire jailed for ATM thefts across the country – including in Suffolk.

On June 6 Mihai Domnulete, 29, and Nicolae Domnulete, 36, both of Westfield Walk, Waltham Cross, were jailed for two years at Ipswich Crown Court, after which they will be deported.

The pair were linked to 172 offences in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Merseyside and the West Midlands.

They tampered with cash machines to divert money from unsuspecting customers.

The duo admitted theft, a fraud offence and going equipped.

Dealer had 300 bags of cocaine and fake Bulgarian ID

Another case from June concerns Hamid Gjoka, who was jailed on June 10.

Gjoka, 35, of no fixed address, was stopped by officers in Ipswich on April 7 and arrested after 12 small bags of cocaine and £800 in cash were discovered.

A set of keys he was carrying led police to an address in Wherstead Road, where officers seized a further 341 bags of cocaine and a bulk amount weighing 3.8 grams.

They also found a counterfeit Bulgarian ID card featuring Gjoka’s photo but another name.

A Western Union receipt showed this other ID had been used to send money to Albania in April.

June also saw an Albanian national jailed after hiding more than a dozen bags of cocaine.

Mirhat Nela, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and nine months’ imprisonment at Ipswich Crown Court on June 13.

The court was told Nela was arrested by officers in Old Station Road, Newmarket, on February 2.

A deodorant container was found in his car, which he had used to conceal 13 sealed bags of cocaine.

Prolific offender banned from shops

Our next case takes us to Lowestoft.

Billy Mansfield, 41, of Ethel Road, Lowestoft, pleaded guilty at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court to theft on June 16.

Mansfield was handed a community behaviour order after stealing from a string of shops in the town.

The order prevents him from entering any Co-op store in London Road North or London Road South.

He also must not enter Sports Direct in London Road North or enter TK Maxx in North Quay.

Man threw away gun and drugs while evading police

Also this month, a man was jailed for seven years after discarding drugs and a loaded gun while trying to give police the slip.

Rhys Hennerby, 30, of Hyena Drive in Stanway, Essex, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on June 19.

He was found by officers in Gaye Street, Ipswich, on February 20.

They gave chase, where Hennerby was seen to discard items from his pocket and, after being detained and arrested, an officer discovered one of the items was a gun.
