Suffolk Police officer Andrew Bedding, of Ipswich, to appear before Colchester Magistrates’ Court charged with coercive control and theft

A serving Suffolk Police officer will appear in court this week after being charged with theft and coercive control.
Police constable Andrew Bedding, 28, of Ipswich, is due to appear before Colchester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow for his first hearing.
He stands accused of three counts of coercive control relating to incidents in Essex.
The first count was in Witham between January 1, 2018 and July 1, 2019; the second from February 1, 2019, in Braintree; and the third from April 1, 2022, in Halstead.
He was also charged with one count of theft after an incident in Basildon on February 1, 2022.
Bedding has been suspended from duties.
