Woman taken to hospital after crash on A14 at Copdock Interchange, outside Ipswich, which closed major route in both directions
A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash between a lorry and a car which closed the A14 in both directions.
Officers were called by the ambulance service at 1.43pm to the collision at the Copdock Interchange (junction 55) outside Ipswich.
A Suffolk Police spokesperson had advised motorists to find alternative routes before the major route was then reopened both ways by 3.13pm.
There had been long queues along the A14 as well as on the A12 outside Copdock and the A137 outside Wherstead.
A woman was freed from her vehicle by firefighters and was taken to Ipswich Hospital by an ambulance for further assessment and care.
One ambulance, two paramedic cars, a BASICS car and an Essex and Herts air ambulance were called to the incident.
