Tributes paid to Dawn Cox, who died after B1070 Bergholt Road crash, in Brantham, near Ipswich, last month
Tributes have been paid to a cherished and well respected teacher and author following her death after a crash last month.
Officers were called to the B1070 Bergholt Road in Brantham, near Ipswich, at 12.55pm on March 30.
It involved a black BMW X3, a black VW Polo and a black Ford Fiesta.
In the aftermath, a woman in her 40s was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.
Officers have now confirmed the woman – identified as 47-year-old Dawn Cox from Hintlesham – died last week.
Family have paid tribute to Dawn after her death.
It read: “Dawn was the much loved daughter of Pamela and the late Mike, sister to Samantha, Aunt to Alisha and Great Aunt to Nola.
“She was a warm and much cherished lifelong friend to Victoria since they met at primary school and partner for the last 21 years to Roy.
“She enjoyed life in Hintlesham, where they shared a bungalow much enlivened by their six cats.”
Her family described Dawn as a well respected teacher, educational consultant and author.
She most recently worked as the head of RE at Manningtree High School before ‘embarking on a new life’ as a consultant in September.
Her family added: “She was fuelled by a passionate conviction to improve the quality of the teaching of her subject and the outcomes for her pupils. Her reputation was country-wide with her writing, blogs, conference workshops and school visits.
“Away from work she enjoyed just relaxing at home, shopping for bargains, and travelling the world. Dawn had recently bought a camper van to enjoy more adventures and was planning a trip in it through France this summer.
“She touched the lives of many pupils and colleagues and her death is a terrible loss to her family, friends and the wider world of education.”
Officers continue to investigate the crash and are asking any motorists driving in the area at the time to review dash-cam footage.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have information or CCTV footage of the lead up to the incident.
Anyone who can aid the investigation should get in touch with the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting incident reference, 37/17143/25.
