The Dyslexia Shop moves to Ipswich from Felixstowe for a larger warehouse stocking products for those with special educational needs
A shop stocking thousands of specialist products to support those with dyslexia and other special educational needs (SEN) has been welcomed in Ipswich.
The Dyslexia Shop, which was based in Felixstowe, has moved in to the former Securicor building in Raeburn Road South, in order to expand into a larger warehouse
The building now holds thousands of different products from tinted workbooks to read aloud pens, as well as others that ease visual stress for individuals living with dyslexia and other specific needs.
The Dyslexia Shop, which offers more than 4,000 specialist products, started as a small business at home but, due to increased demand, it expanded to a premises in Felixstowe which it has now outgrown.
The business works with schools, prisons, hospitals and other public services as well as private individuals of all ages from infant to retired.
Owner of The Dyslexia Shop Honor Page said: "We are pleased to be here in Ipswich with space to grow and new opportunities to link with schools close by around the town.
"We’re a team of six experts offering advice on products to help people of any age with special educational needs - not just dyslexia - with their learning or to improve day-to-day tasks at work."
Councillor David Ellesmere, Ipswich Borough Council Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Property, said: "It’s great to see The Dyslexia Shop operating from their new base here in Ipswich. This is a company with a national reach, distributing thousands of specialist products right across the UK.
"With room to expand and with the proximity to new contacts in the education sector that the move to Ipswich allows, I’m looking forward to seeing them flourish in the future."
