Drivers should expect delays for 'some time' on the A14 near Ipswich this evening following a car fire.

Firefighters were called to a blaze on the major road at about 5.25pm and started leaving the scene at 6pm.

At 6.20pm, Suffolk Police said, in a post on Twitter, that there were 'significant' delays on the A14 westbound between Copdock at junction 55 and Nacton at junction 57 due to the car fire.

They said the road had reopned but delays should be expected 'for some time' due to the volume of traffic.
