Riverhills Health Club & Spa, outside Ipswich, announces changing room upgrades in fourth phase of redevelopment
New changing rooms will be built at a spa complex outside Ipswich as part of the fourth phase of a major redevelopment project.
Riverhills Health Club & Spa, in Bramford Road, has offered a glimpse of what the new facilities, set to open early next year, could look like.
The spa team hoped the work would enhance the guest and member experience, with work expected to finish by Christmas.
Owner Dave Courteen expected the renovations to play an important part of the complex’s transformation.
He said they plan to open the new facilities to members in spring 2025.
He said: “We’re focused on creating an environment where our members and guests feel relaxed and looked after from the moment they arrive, and these changes will ensure that every part of their visit is a truly luxurious experience."
As part of the development, bench and seating areas would be improved, showers will be upgraded, more underfloor heating will be added and the ventilation system will be overhauled.
To minimise disruption, the club has installed temporary changing rooms, complete with showers.
Riverhills was bought by Mosiac Group in 2021 and shortly after some of its facilities were upgraded to the tune of £500,000.
This included a £250,000 gym overhaul featuring equipment from Technogym, including cardio machines and strength training equipment as well as a reception refurbishment with a coffee and smoothie bar.
Some areas of the spa were also updated in the first phase of the project.
The complex was heavily damaged in a blaze in June last year. Riverhills reopened on August 29, 2023.
After the blaze, about a quarter of the premises needed repairs, including the pool hall, a class studio and laundry room.
The complex’s pool was developed in the wake of the fire.
