Framlingham singer Ed Sheeran teases return with mystery 'Christmas present'
Suffolk singer Ed Sheeran has teased a return to music with a mystery 'Christmas present' he is set to share at 11am today.
The musician, who lives in Framlingham with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their young baby Lyra Antarctica, shared a picture of a painting with the caption '11am GMT tomorrow. A Christmas present' in a post on Instagram yesterday.
He also posted a video to his Instagram story which showed him sitting down with a guitar – along with the same message promising a 'Christmas present' today – teasing his return to music.
It's only the second time he has posted on Instagram this year, after announcing a break at the end of last year following his Divide tour which closed with four homecoming dates in Ipswich in August 2019.
In that post, he said he had been a 'bit non stop since 2017' and added he would be off of all social media 'until it's time to come back'.
His only other post on social media this year came in September when he announced that he and his wife Cherry had welcomed their first child, Lyra Antarctica.
Thousands of fans are awaiting the reveal of Ed's 'Christmas present' this morning – with the latest Instagram post having racked up more than 740,000 likes and 19,000 comments so far.
Among the comments, some have said the news has 'saved 2020', while another fan said: "I can't tell you how much we all need something to look forward to."
