The 'senseless' murder of an Ipswich teenager will be explored in a documentary on TV this evening.

MTV's True Life Crime UK will look into the fatal attack on 17-year-old Tavis Spencer-Aitkens in June 2018, for which five people were jailed in 2019.

Aristote Yenge, Kyreis Davies, Adebayo Amusa and Isaac Calver were all handed life sentences after being convicted of Tavis' murder, while Callum Plaats was found guilty of manslaughter.

All five had denied being responsible for Tavis' death but were found guilty at Ipswich Crown Court followed a 14-week trial.

The men were jailed for a combined total of 104 years in April 2019.

Tavis had been brutally attacked at about 4.50pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in Packard Avenue in Nacton, having been stabbed 15 times - one of which proved to be fatal - and a bottle smashed over his head.

He was taken to Ipswich Hospital in a critical condition but died there a short while later as a result of a stab wound.

Presenter Linda Adey will explore the reasons why Tavis was attacked in the episode of True Life Crime UK airing tonight at 10pm on MTV UK.

In a short clip of the episode, Linda can be seen speaking with his mum Sharon Box, who said her son had been a 'very boisterous, loud, but loving, sweet, sweet boy' as a child.
