Suffolk woman Hannah Brown appears on BBC's University Challenge with Jeremy Paxman

A Suffolk woman appeared in last night's episode of the BBC quiz show University Challenge.

Hannah Brown, who is studying a bachelors degree in history at the London School of Economics (LSE), competed alongside fellow students Dominic Ede, Laurent Balt and Ali Hassan.

The team, which had an average age of 24, failed to beat rivals from the University College Oxford, who had the youngest average age in this year's competition at just 19.

Hannah and her team did not manage to secure a place in round two, scoring a respectable 110 but beaten by University College Oxford's score of 175.

But host Jeremy Paxman said: "110 could well be high enough to come back as one of the highest scoring losers."

The episode was the third in the 2022/23 series, which airs every Monday at 8.30pm on BBC Two.
