Teenager sentenced after murder of Suffolk woman Emma Lovell in North Lakes, Queensland
A teenager who murdered a Suffolk mum-of-two after breaking into her home in Australia has been jailed.
Emma Lovell, 41, was stabbed to death during a home invasion on December 26, 2022.
At the time of her death, she had lived in North Lakes, Brisbane for 11 years, although she grew up near Ipswich.
The defendant, who was 17 at the time of the incident and cannot be named for legal reasons, is now 19 and was handed a 14-year sentence.
He admitted murder earlier this year, having also pleaded guilty to three other burglary and assault charges.
On the day of the murder, Queensland Police said two teenagers gained entry into a home in Whitfield Crescent at 11.30pm.
They were confronted by a man and a woman who lived there.
An altercation inside the house moved into the front garden and Emma was stabbed.
Her husband, Lee, was also injured.
Another teenager has not yet entered a plea and is expected to appear in court later this month.
