Teenager stabbed and assaulted in Saxmundham near Ipswich as man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
Police are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing and assault in a Suffolk town.
The victim, a man aged 19, was taken to hospital for treatment having sustained stab wounds to his back, arms and side.
Officers were called by the ambulance services at about 10.20pm on Tuesday, November 15 to reports of a stabbing on Mayflower Avenue in Saxmundham near Ipswich.
The victim remains in a stable condition and his injuries are thought to not be life threatening.
A man, aged 29, was arrested in connection with the incident at about 4am on Wednesday, November 16 on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently being held at Martlesham PIC for questioning.
A further call was made to police from the ambulance services at approximately 10.30pm on Tuesday, November 15, reporting an incident of assault on Lincoln Avenue, just outside the property on Mayflower Avenue, which police are investigating in connection with the attempted murder.
The male victim, aged 18, was struck in the face with an item by a number of males outside the property with the victim sustaining an injury to the nose.
The local community will notice an increased police presence in the area for the time being and a scene remains in place in Mayflower Avenue.
Police are encouraging members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour or persons immediately to officers either via 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.
