Read about three lovable Suffolk dogs searching for a new home through RSPCA Suffolk
Welcoming a dog into your home is a big decision but also a very rewarding thing to do.
Many homeless dogs are desperate to be given a chance and find a forever home they can call their own.
RSPCA Suffolk has provided profiles of three pooches looking for a new family. Could you give them the love they need?
Aubrey
Breed: Cockapoo
Age: Two years
Aubrey was taken into the RSPCA centre’s care with his sister.
He has not had the best start in life so he can be worried around new things, including people, traffic and sounds.
Aubrey’s future family would need to visit the centre regularly to spend time with him, allowing him to build a relationship and learn to trust.
He would also need to have several visits to the home with his handlers to ensure he starts to feel comfortable in his new environment.
Adopters will also need to continue his positive training and socialisation at home, with the support of the centre’s behaviour team.
Aubrey loves spending time with his carers, getting lots of affection and playing with his favourite toys, while zooming around an enclosed field.
He has plenty of energy and love to offer the right home, one that could help to build his confidence at his own pace. His ideal home would be in a rural area with few visitors and access to quiet walks, away from busy traffic and crowds.
Do you have the space in your home for this special boy?
Bella
Age: Four years
Breed: Bulldog X
Bella arrived to the centre after being taken in on welfare grounds.
She is a bubbly girl who loves nothing more than human companionship and a lap to perch her bottom on.
Bella does find bad weather, certain sounds and some other dogs or people worrying, so she is looking for a quiet home with adopters who are patient and gentle.
On arrival to the centre, Bella’s back was curved more than average. Following some x-rays, it was confirmed she has spondylosis and mild hip dysplasia.
This has not stopped her from enjoying life, but it does mean her adopters would need to provide her with some restricted exercise and physiotherapy.
Bella loves play, cuddle and dinner time as well as training for a tasty treat. You will often find her prancing around with a toy in her mouth.
Do you have a place waiting on your sofa with Bella’s name on it?
Hugo
Age: One year
Breed: Terrier
Hugo arrived at the centre after he was removed from a property by an RSPCA inspector.
Hugo is a lovely chap who enjoys spending time with his favourite humans, getting lots of love and attention.
He enjoys running around the centre’s enclosed field and playing with his favourite toys.
While Hugo is not able to live with other dogs at the moment, he would benefit from socialising with well-matched dogs on walks and in other relaxed environments.
Hugo would thrive in an active home with adopters who can spend time working on his basic training, including loose lead walking, as he can be quite strong on the lead. He is a clever boy who will really flourish in the right home.
Hugo can find being left alone difficult. He will need someone who is around most of the time and willing to help him learn that being left for short periods is not scary.
