Two men and one woman arrested on suspicion of arson after fire damages house on Ipswich's Hawke Road




Three people have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire that caused 'substantial' damage to a house in Ipswich on Friday.

Police are appealing for information after the incident which happened within a house in Hawke Road at some point between 10pm and 11.50pm.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at about 11.53pm after a top floor bedroom window at the property was seen alight.

Officers said while no one was in the property at the time, the fire caused substantial damage.

Two men aged 37 and 40 and a woman aged 25 were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of arson.

They were to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and have subsequently been released on bail until Saturday, May 22.

Police are still making enquiries into the incident to establish the cause of the blaze.
