Three teenagers charged after man injured and robbed of glasses, phone and cash in Ipswich
Three teenagers have been charged in connection with a robbery in Ipswich in which a man was punched and left with facial injuries at the weekend.
Police said the three people, two women and a boy, were arrested and charged after an incident on Upper Brook Street in the town on Saturday, August 29 at about 5.05am.
Officers said the victim, a man in his late 40s, was approached by two men and a boy who asked him for a Rizla rolling paper and some tobacco.
They then got into a conversation and the situation escalated, with the group allegedly punching the victim to the floor and stealing his glasses, mobile phone and a small amount of cash before leaving him with an injured mouth and face.
A short time afterwards, three people were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Shannan O’Connor, 19, of Fore Street in Ipswich, Chelsea O’Connor, 19, also of Fore Street and a 15-year-old boy were all charged with robbery.
They all appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday and were remanded to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, September 28.
