Met Office places yellow weather warning for Suffolk as thunderstorms and heavy rain expected to lash the county
Thunderstorms and heavy rain could lash Suffolk later this week.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for storms from 3pm Friday until 6am on Saturday.
It predicts between 30mm and 50mm of rainfall on average for the East of England on both days.
The authority warned that spray and wet conditions could lead to roads becoming waterlogged and hazardous. There may also be flooding and gale force winds.
It warned of potential delays to public transport and power cuts due to lightning strikes.
Commuters have been urged to be cautious if travelling.
The warning is in place for the entire county.
