St Francis Tower in Franciscan Way, Ipswich, evacuated after flood




A tower block flood in Suffolk has caused residents to be moved to temporary accommodation.

The incident on Saturday night and Sunday morning left St Francis Tower in Franciscan Way, Ipswich, severely damaged.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at 10.46pm on Saturday, July 1, and their work was completed by 4.12am the following morning.

People living in the tower were evacuated in the early hours of Sunday. The council provided a rest centre with showers, beds, meals, and toys for the children.

The council secured the temporary accommodation on Sunday afternoon.
