Emergency services called to Hale Close in Ipswich after suspected chemical incident




A suspected chemical incident saw multiple emergency services called following reports of a ‘suspicious smell’.

Six fire crews, ambulance and police were called to Hale Close in Ipswich at 1.15pm today.

A spokesperson for the fire service said there has been ‘a chemical incident with a suspicious smell of an unknown substance’.

There were also two air ambulances spotted in the area but it is unclear whether they are connected to the response at this time.

The police have confirmed that the incident posed no wider risk to the public.
