Two men arrested after assault in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich
Two men have been arrested after an assault in Ipswich last week.
A 23-year-old and a 28-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm after an incident in Woodbridge Road at 7pm on Friday.
Officers believe a man in his 20s was approached by a small group after arriving at an address in the street.
He was attacked and left with a stab wound, which is not believed to be serious or life-threatening.
It is believed all parties involved in the incident were known to each other and wished to reassure residents there was no threat to the public.
The pair have since been bailed until January 31.
Superintendent Andy Martin, from Suffolk Police, said officers were ‘relentless’ in their proactive approach to serious violence and will continue this into the future.
He added: “Ipswich has made exceptional progress in recent years seeing a continued reduction in these crime types and we must not lose sight of that, but our work isn’t over and it remains vital that we, our partners and our communities maintain this momentum.”
