The University of Suffolk has today been announced as the Official University Partner for Ipswich Town Football Club.
The new partnership will see two of the county’s leading institutions work together, sharing ideas and a commitment to champion pride in the county.
The club and the university’s partnership is for an initial three-and-a-half year period, during which time the relationship between the two will give students studying in Suffolk unique opportunities to undergo placements at Portman Road in order to gain experience in professional football and expand their skillsets.
In addition, the university’s branding will take on a notable presence inside Portman Road, promoting the university widely to visitors and supporters of the club.
Ipswich Town CEO Mark Ashton said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the University of Suffolk.
“Both the football club and university share many of the same values and both take great pride in showcasing the best of our county to the wider world, which we both believe to be a vital part of our roles within our community.”
