Van crashes into barrier on A12 northbound in East Bergholt, south of Ipswich

A van has crashed into the central barrier on the A12.

It is thought the driver suffered a medical emergency causing him to collide with the reservation on the A12 northbound at junction 31, in East Bergholt – south of Ipswich.

The van damaged the barrier, and queuing traffic was caused as one lane was blocked. This was reopened at just after 11.05am.

Police were called to the incident at about 9.55am, and left the scene at 11.40am.

The driver of the van went to hospital, though it is not thought their injuries are serious.
