Violent disorder at East Anglian derby at Carrow Road on April 6 leads to 20 people being charged with variety of offences




The violent disorder prior to April’s East Anglian derby led to 20 people being charged with a variety of offences.

Norfolk Police announced today 16 men and four teenage boys were charged following the disorder on Saturday, April 6 at around 11.45am in Heathside Road, Thorpe Road, Cotman Road and Carrow Road.

A group of men and boys were verbally and physically abusive towards each other.

Two Suffolk residents were charged with offences.

Karl Dawson, 62, of Walnut Close, Felixstowe, and Luke George, 28, of Oulton Road, Lowestoft, have been summoned to court on suspicion of use of threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

All 20 defendants are to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on December 6 or 10.
