And now it is over to you to have the final say in our poll below.

Chippy's in Haverhill was one of those nominated on our social media channels, with Angela Harding having described it as 'definitely the best by far'.

Readers also showed their love for Deep Blue in Newmarket, Eye Fish and Chips, Stanton Fish and Chips and Woodbridge Quality Fish and Chips.

Several gave shout outs to Bury St Edmunds fish shops, with Peyton Plaice, which has eateries in Barton Road and St Olaves Road, Lake Avenue Fish Bar and Westend Chippy having been nominated.

Ipswich also proved popular, with its Golden Fish, Codfella's, and Barry's all having received praise from our readers.

Many of our coastal towns were also hailed the homes of the best fish supper, which may not come as a surprise as the meal is often considered to be synonymous with a trip to the seaside.

Aldeburgh Fish and Chips received two nominations, while Felixstowe's Fish Dish and Pakefield Plaice in Lowestoft were also named firm favourites.

Southwold bagged two nominations, with The Little Fish and Chip Shop and Mrs T's Fish and Chips both having made the shortlist.
