The One Show presenter Alex Jones gives glowing review to Ipswich MPCT college
A military preparation and training college appeared on The One Show this week leaving presenter Alex Jones wondering how to sign her children up to join.
MPCT, which has a centre at the Army Reserve Centre, in Yarmouth Road, Ipswich, featured on the BBC One programme on Tuesday night to show the different pathways available to school leavers.
The segment focused particularly on young women seeking a career in the military to promote gender representation in the armed forces.
Both Alex and her co-host Jermaine Jenas thought it looked great and shared their thoughts after the video segment.
Alex said: “It’s a great idea. Where can I sign up my children?”
MPCT teaches normal subjects like English and maths while also offering vocational skills in a real-life military environment.
The programme has supported more 92 per cent of learners to progress into the service and helped more than 1,200 young people to begin their careers.
MCPT Ipswich is recruiting for new learners and you can learn more by emailing help@learningcurvegroup.co.uk or calling 0330 1113939.
Instructor Dale Gardener added: “It’s a very unique course in what it offers – we try to mix everything with the military values and standards.
“Learners come from very different walks of life and some really struggled in school, so we help to nurture them individually.”
