A window was smashed and a large sum of cash was stolen from a vehicle in a Suffolk town.

The incident happened at the Euro Retail Park on The Sandlings in Ipswich on Tuesday, October 24 at some point between 10.10am and 10.30am.

According to Suffolk Police, it is thought two suspects are thought to have watched a male victim withdraw £3000 in cash from inside a bank.

The victim left the bank and entered his parked vehicle, a silver 4x4 pick up, and then drove to a nearby B&Q in the same retail park.

Whilst he was in B&Q, entry was forced into the vehicle by the offenders smashing a passenger window of the vehicle and the money was taken.

The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police are asking for people to stay vigilant if they are withdrawing large amounts of money from banks and would advise them not to leave any cash amount or valuable items in their vehicles and to report any suspicious behaviour.

Officers are continuing investigations into the incident and anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour at the time, knows who was responsible, or has experienced a similar situation recently, to call Ipswich Police quoting crime number 37/62205/23 via the website.
