Woman, 24, charged after fatal collision on A12 at Frostenden




A 24-year-old woman has been charged after a passenger travelling in her car was killed in a crash.

Chelcie Lavery, of High Street, Leiston, has been charged with causing death by careless driving following a police investigation into the 2018 collision.

Officers were called to the scene of a two-car crash on the A12 at Frostenden, near the junction with Gypsy Lane, just after 6pm on October 17, 2018.

A Peugeot 206 and an Isuzu D-max were involved.

Charlotte Oakes, 22, who was a passenger in the Peugeot, which was being driven by Miss Lavery, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miss Lavery was summonsed to appear at Suffolk Magistrates' Court on July 2 last year.

She is due to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday.
