Stowmarket woman arrested in connection with attack on teenage boy in grounds of Ipswich's Holy Trinity Church bailed

A woman who was arrested in connection with an assault in Ipswich has been released on bail.

It comes after a teenage boy was assaulted by another man, between 2pm and 2.10pm on Saturday in the ground of Holy Trinity Church in Back Hamlet.

The teenager sustained injuries to his legs and the suspect fled the scene in a waiting car. Police can now confirm this car had three male passengers in, as well as the driver of the vehicle.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Detectives believe that he was known to his assailant and as such there is no wider threat to the community.

Yesterday afternoon officers arrested a 41-year-old woman from Stowmarket on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

She was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has today been released on bail. She is due to return to officers on Friday December 17.
