Woman rescued from Belstead Brook in Ipswich after breaking her ankle




A 78-year-old woman was rescued from a brook in Ipswich this afternoon, after breaking her ankle.

An ambulance was called at around 1pm following reports of an injured female.

Two fire crews then attended the scene at around 1.30pm to help remove the woman from the brook where she had fallen.

The woman was stuck in Belstead Brook, which runs alongside Belstead Rd.

By 2pm the woman was safely helped from the water and taken to Ipswich Hospital for further assessment and care.
