Met Office yellow weather warning in place for Ipswich, Felixstowe, Woodbridge and Lowestoft this weekend




The Met Office has announced a yellow weather warning will be in place across parts of Suffolk this weekend.

A spell of strong and gusty winds will move east across England and Wales over the coming days, potentially causing disruption to some travel services.

The yellow weather warning will be in place from 11am tomorrow, Saturday, December 30, through to 3am on Sunday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve.

Met Office maps show the weather warning for wind will cover Suffolk towns in the east of the county, including: Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe and Lowestoft.

What to expect from a yellow weather warning:

-Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely

-It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves

-Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer

-Some short term loss of power and other services is possible

-Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
