2021/22 Fixtures: Ipswich Town to host Morecambe at Portman Road on opening Saturday
Ipswich Town will begin their 2021/22 Sky Bet League One campaign against newly promoted Morecambe at Portman Road on Saturday, August 7.
Away games at Burton and Cheltenham will follow before Paul Cook's side round off the opening month of the campaign with a duo of home fixtures against MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon.
The Blues will finish next term at home too, Charlton visiting Portman Road for the season finale on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
Town are on the road to Gillingham on Boxing Day while they will host Lincoln on New Year's Day.
The first local derby with newly-promoted Cambridge United will take place at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday, October 16 while Mark Bonner's U's will visit Portman Road on Saturday, April 2.
Amongst other key dates, supporters may well look out for the trips to Portsmouth (Tuesday, October 19), Sunderland (Saturday, November 20), Charlton (Tuesday, December ) and Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday, January 29).
Meanwhile, the EFL released a statement late last night saying that it has 'developed an interchangeable fixture list for Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers, while the disciplinary process (against Derby's accounting process) is finalised'.
Later today, the schedule will take further shape when Town learn of their Carabao Cup round one opponents (3.40pm) and the Invited U21 side who will be in Southern Group A of the Papa John's Trophy (4.30pm) alongside Colchester, Gillingham and themselves.
The club have said season ticket sales will resume on Monday, June 28 at 10am with 'Early Bird' prices still available up to the first league game.
