Ipswich Town vs Aston Villa: Jack Clarke handed first Premier League start while Kalvin Phillips and Chiedozie Ogbene also come into Kieran McKenna’s side
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has made three changes for the visit of Aston Villa (2pm) which includes handing a first Premier League start to summer signing Jack Clarke.
The wide attacker has replaced Sammie Szmodics as the left-sided forward after some promising cameos since his arrival from Sunderland ahead of the summer transfer window closing.
On-loan Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips returns from injury in place of fellow loanee Jens Cajuste, who is not included in the matchday squad, while Chiedozie Ogbene starts ahead of Wes Burns on the right-hand side of the attack.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side shows just one change from the side that started last weekend’s 3-1 home win against Wolverhampton Wanderers with Leon Bailey coming in for the injured John McGinn on the right-hand side of their attack.
Ipswich go into the game unbeaten in three but still looking for their first victory since re-entering the Premier League after a 22-year absence.
Villa, who host Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the Champions Leage, have made a strong start to the campaign with four wins from five and a single defeat to sit fifth in the early table.
Ipswich are down in the final relegation spot in 18th with a chance to lift themselves out with a positive result this afternoon.
