Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert plotting changes for FA Cup tie with Portsmouth

Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has revealed he is planning to make some changes to his starting line-up for tomorrow's Emirates FA Cup clash against Portsmouth (3pm).

Lambert is intending to use the first-round tie at Portman as an opportunity for some of his squad players to prove their worth.

The Scot told Ipswich's website: "We've had midweek then weekend games for quite a while now.

"We also had a long journey in the week and it's a long season. We have to look at it and make some changes. And a few of the lads have knocks. They need to be looked after.

"But it's an opportunity for some of the lads. They'll want to show what they can do. If they perform well then it makes my job more difficult but that's what we want."

One player that will not be available is Andre Dozzell after the midfielder lost his appeal against the red card he received at Sunderland on Tuesday night.
