Former Ipswich Town midfielder Keith Andrews moves ahead of Kieran McKenna in betting odds to replace Thomas Frank as new Brentford manager

Ipswich Town supporters may soon be able to breathe a huge sigh of relief as Brentford’s search for a new manager seemingly draws closer to a conclusion.

After Thomas Frank left the Bees to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur, reports suggested that Tractor Boys boss Kieran McKenna was high on the west Londoner’s shortlist to replace the Dane.

Indeed, as recently as yesterday morning, McKenna was the odds-on favourite to fill the vacancy at the Gtech Community Stadium.

However, McKenna has since drifted to second favourite with the majority of bookmakers, with a former Ipswich midfielder now as short as 1/9 to take the job.

Keith Andrews, who scored nine goals in 20 appearances during a loan spell at Portman Road in the 2011/12 season, was the set-piece coach at Brentford under Frank’s management.

And it would appear that the 44-year-old former Republic of Ireland international is in line to step up to replace the new Spurs manager.

Andrews was one of a few members of the backroom team to remain at Brentford after Frank took Justin Cochrane, Chris Haslam and Joe Newton with him to Tottenham.
