Paul Lambert's Ipswich Town departure backed by Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose

Former Ipswich Town duo Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose have backed the decision to part company with manager Paul Lambert.

The club announced last night that the Scot had left Portman Road, with owner Marcus Evans citing a 'significant differences of opinion' between the pair as a leading factor in his departure.

The Tractor Boys had actually been enjoying a mini revival of late after a disappointing run of form, but the two ex-players still felt it was the right time for Lambert to go.
