Emyr Huws joins Colchester United following his release from Ipswich Town last summer

Former Ipswich Town midfielder Emyr Huws has joined Colchester United on a short-term deal.

The Welshman has returned to football with the League Two club after he was released from Portman Road last summer.

Huws initially joined Ipswich on loan in January 2017, before making a permanent switch to Suffolk later in the same year.

He spent a further four seasons with the Blues, before he departed the club at the expiry of his contract in June 2021.

The 28-year-old is on the bench for Hayden Mullins' side this afternoon as they prepare to face Barrow.
