Norwich City complete signing of former Ipswich Town midfielder Eloise King after short Hashtag United stint
Eloise King has crossed the Suffolk/Norfolk divide to sign for Norwich City.
Having risen through the academy at AFC Sudbury, King went on to make almost 100 appearances for Ipswich Town after making her debut in 2019.
However, the midfielder left the Tractor Girls in February of this year in search of more regular first-team football – a decision that saw her link up with Hashtag United for the remainder of the campaign.
But now King has completed another move, this time putting pen to paper on a professional contract with the Canaries.
Bury St Edmunds-born King told the Norwich website: “I'm absolutely delighted to have signed a contract with the club. I think it was important that I joined somewhere really ambitious – obviously the goal is to get promoted this season.
“I'm so eager to prove myself, be successful and be challenged, and I believe that coming here is perfect for that.”
Meanwhile, Norwich’s head of women’s football Flo Allen added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Eloise to the club. She is a player with real quality and experience, with plenty of room for development.
“She is a player that we were tracking for a while and I am excited to see her get to work under (manager) Andy Cook’s guidance.”
The switch to Norwich will see the former England youth international come up against her former club Sudbury in the FA Women's National League Division One South East next season.
