Ipswich Town CEO Mark Ashton delivers on tattoo vow after Blues secure promotion to Premier League

The chief executive of Ipswich Town has revealed his new tattoo after promising he would get one should the Blues secure promotion to the Premier League.

Mark Ashton vowed to tattoo the Town Suffolk Punch on his wrist during an interview for Life’s a Pitch TV in December.

In the interview, he said: “I also had a conversation with the family and have an agreement with the family.

“When - when - we get promoted, the horse is going on that wrist. And you can hold me to that.”

Earlier this month, the Tractor Boys secured a 2-0 victory against Huddersfield Town and returned to the top tier after 22 years away, finishing second in the Championship.

Mark has now delivered on his promise after he unveiled the design during a two-part interview with Town TV.

“I did say it would be done,” he said. “This is my tip of the cap to the fanbase, the town, the Suffolk community.

“Three years ago, I felt this community really took me in and has looked after me all the way through.

“So wherever I go, whatever I do, that’s my tip of the cap and thank you.”
