Kieran McKenna has confirmed a further addition to his coaching staff at Ipswich Town.

Joining the new regime at Portman Road is Charlie Turnbull, who arrives following a stint working closely with the Under-23s at Championship outfit Fulham.

Turnbull will take up the role as head of analysis – and the recently-appointed McKenna is delighted to have him on board.

"I've brought in Charlie Turnbull as head of analysis who will also work very closely with us on the coaching side," McKenna, who will take charge of the Tractor Boys for the first time tomorrow against Wycombe Wanderers, told reporters.

"Charlie comes in from Fulham where he was Under-23s coach and Under-23 analyst.

"He's someone I've known for a while – a fantastically talented young coach, a fantastically talented young analyst.

"He's someone who I know will add to our staff team here and the players will respond to and (he'll) be able to develop the players."

McKenna also revealed that he is in the 'process' of sounding out other candidates about the possibility of expanding his backroom staff.

He added: "We're still in the process of speaking to one or two people.

"The club has given me really good scope to add and develop my staff as time goes on.

"There are no other additions at the moment but there is still scope going forward to add to the staff team and that is something we're looking at going forward in terms of the balance of the staff, the balance of the squad we're working with and where we might use a little bit of extra help."
